You’re a good parent, and I know you’re trying to do your best, but you’re worried. You feel like there are things your child isn’t telling you. They’re moody and sometimes argumentative. They seem stressed, or maybe they don’t seem as happy as they used to be.
You know something’s going on. You can’t seem to get them to open up. You’re really worried and can’t stop thinking about it. It’s keeping you up at night and you feel like a horrible parent because you don’t know how to help.
Sometimes, it’s difficult to get kids to open up about what’s going on. There are so many reasons that kids don’t feel comfortable talking about what’s going on with them. You know they’re not happy, that things could be different. You want to help, you just don’t know how.
You might be thinking…
Perhaps you’re thinking, ‘well that’s just how my child is, he keeps everything to himself,’ or, ‘he needs to figure this out on his own.’ Maybe, you’re thinking ‘he never listens to what I have to say anyway, so what’s the point.’ .Or, what if you just don’t really want to know because you think you won’t be able to deal with it or help him anyway.
There are a lot of reasons that a lack of communication may exist. I know that you can fix this, and I know you’ll feel better when you do.
No one wants to see their child suffer. You may be doubtful that you have the ability to do anything to help your child. Maybe you don’t think you have the type of relationship that enables better communication, trust and the ability to support your child.
Or, maybe you think that you won’t be able to help your child because you don’t have the skills, or knowledge, to do so. Yet you can! I know you can and I’m here to help you!
Now imagine…
Imagine your child coming home from school, happy, excited, ready to tell you all about their day. They give you a hug, and you feel warm and special, happy too! You can see their confidence grow day-by-day. They have friends, love their siblings and want to do things with the family. They’re more talkative, more excited about the future and ready to talk instead of argue.
How does that sound to you? Do you think it’s possible? I do, in fact, I know it is!
Now, let’s get to work making your family’s life better!
Here’s how!
In the Raising Confident Kids online community, I’ll teach you some of the methods that life coaches use to get their clients to open up, feel heard and understood. I’ll work with you to identify what’s getting in the way of your child seeking you out as their first point of contact when things are tough for them. I’ll even help you work through whatever it is that you’re going through that might be getting in the way of your ability to be present so that you can actually help your child.
I’ll give you techniques, and things to say and do to help your child gain confidence, deal with difficult situations, and whatever else is going on in their lives. I help you create awareness about what you might be doing that affects how your child sees him/herself, other people and the world. I’ll also share tools for both of you to use to work through all sorts of things!

Why I’m Passionate About Raising Confident Kids
When I was growing up, I was very close to my mum. My mum came from a very poor family in Plymouth, England. Because she was born in 1930, she was 9 when World War II began and lived through the bombs dropping, evacuation and seeing dead bodies in the streets. My mum married an Englishman when she was young (22), and they were supposed to emigrate to Canada. Well she did. He never showed up.
When she returned to England, to try make things work, she got pregnant and he forced her to give the baby up for adoption. I didn’t know anything about this until my own daughter was in kindergarten. My sister, who lives in Australia, found us through International Social Services. She came to visit us in Michigan and we are still in touch.
The reason I’m telling you this story is because my mum didn’t have an easy life but she kept her head up, learned to appreciate the little things, and made decisions that helped her retake her power, remain positive, kind and inspirational. She was very inspirational! I was told over and over again, that I could do anything I wanted to do. I believed that, and I want you and your kids to believe it too!
My relationship with my mother was one of trust, communication, acceptance and unconditional love. It is what gave me the confidence to go for my dreams, be excited about the future, value myself, appreciate life and most of all be confident about who I was.
My mother is the reason I want to help you and your kids. While my friends growing up hated who they were, snuck out the window at night, experimented with sex, alcohol and drugs, I was having responsible fun. In fact, I know I had more fun than they did because I had way more freedom.
My mum knew pretty much everything because I was able to talk to her about pretty much everything. She trusted me, and I wasn’t going to betray that trust. Furthermore, I made my own decisions. I had people that tried to get me to smoke, try marijuana, have sex, but I knew that my decisions were my decisions, and so would be the consequences. So I made smart decisions.
That’s what you want your kids to do too, I’m sure. I know you also want them to be successful, happy and confident so they can feel good about who they are and enjoy everything that life has to offer them.
How coaching helps
Coaches help people get clarity and explore what’s stopping them from getting what they want. Sometimes it even helps them determine what they really want, if they aren’t sure.
Coaches help people get what they want by challenging them, supporting them, and holding them accountable. Coaches are motivators, support systems, and cheerleaders.
Coaches don’t have the answers. The client does. Our tools and expertise, however, enable the client to get what they want through powerful questioning, setting goals, and by being supported along the way.
Teams, athletes, actors, executives, small business owners, and politicians all have coaches for a reason. They want to be the best they can be. They want to be at their peak level of performance when it really counts!
Coaching is powerful! Coaching is life changing! Coaching works!

I have an undergraduate, and a masters degree in business management. In addition, I completed 36 credits in leadership and organization development at the doctoral level.
